Measurement
Envirosafe services include continuous monitors to measure the presence and amount of radon in a home. Monitors are placed for a minimum of 48 hours. From your home the test is immediately downloaded and a printed report is generated within minutes.
Mitigation
Envirosafe has the ability to lower the high radon levels in your home by installing a Radon Mitigation System using technical knowledge and special skills. There are several proven methods to reduce radon in your home, but the one primarily used is a vent pipe system and fan, which pulls radon from beneath the house and vents it to the outside. During a radon mitigation install, Envirosafe installs a monitor to make sure the system is always operating properly. In addition, EPA recommends retesting your home every two years to be sure radon levels remain low.

Radon is a radioactive gas found all over the U.S. that you cannot see, smell, or taste. It comes from the natural decay of uranium in soil, rock, and water, and moves into your home where it can build up. It is estimated to cause about 21,000 lung cancer deaths per year, according to EPA's 2003 Assessment of Risks from Radon in Homes (EPA 402-R-03-003)4.
